CAIS Arabic students compete in international debating comp

The CAIS Arabic team are in the front row on the left.
Our congratulations to them for being there and taking
part in the most challenging of all debates.

Monday 10 April 2017

The ANU Centre for Arab and Islamic Studies is extraordinarily proud of the small group of Arabic students who have travelled to Qatar to take part in the International University Arabic Debating Championship. The team of experienced Arabic scholars from CAIS have their work cut out for them, competing against native Arabic speakers. Despite this obvious handicap, the team are courageously putting all their efforts into each debate. While they don't have the advantage of the locals they are able to show their great skills and knowledge of Arabic in this international forum.
Looks like they had some fun in the middle of all the hard work.
